Questions, answered.
Is Keepscan free?
Yes. Scanning, editing pages, and saving or sharing PDFs and images are free, with no ads and no watermark. Keepscan Pro is an optional one-time purchase that adds copy text, search inside documents, signing, merge, split, compress, password-protected PDFs and app lock.
Does Keepscan upload my documents?
No. Your scans are stored inside the app on your phone. Keepscan has no account and no server of its own, and documents only leave your phone when you save, share or back them up yourself.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Scanning, filters, PDF creation and text recognition all run on your phone. You only need a connection to buy or restore Keepscan Pro through Google Play.
What can I save my scans as?
A PDF, or JPG images with one image per page, in Original, Balanced or Email size. With Pro you can also keep a PDF under an exact size, from 200 KB to 5 MB, or protect it with a password.
Can I scan both sides of an ID card?
Yes. The ID card tool asks for the front, then the back, and places both at real card size on a single A4 page.
How do I move my documents to a new phone?
In Settings, choose Back up documents. Keepscan writes every document into one .zip file that you can save to Google Drive or anywhere you like. On the new phone, choose Restore from a backup. Restoring adds documents and never replaces the ones already there. Pro is restored from your Google account.
Which phones does Keepscan work on?
Android phones running Android 9 or later. A camera is optional: you can also build documents from gallery photos and existing PDFs.
